This week the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students were introduced to Spell Check or had a review lesson. I demonstrated the various ways to open Spell Check when working with Microsoft Office applications and how the tool works to help you edit your project. The students then had the opportunity to write a few sentences in MS Word and create spelling errors. It's hard to spell words wrong when you're trying to make a mistake, LOL!
This week all students at Northwest are discussing the Dream of Dr. Martin Luther King and how they can keep that dream alive. We talk about how one person can change laws and the way people look at the world using peace and love, not violence. We spoke of the idea that children understand what is fair or not fair, what is right and what is wrong even at their age. I asked them to consider how it is their responsibility to keep America free and equal for all people!
